An beaded bracelet designed exclusively for the British Museum.
The bracelet forms part of an exclusive range of Real Pearl Company jewellery to coincide with the exhibition, Ancient lives, new discoveries.
This design consists of a strand of 8mm turquoise round beads alternating with 7mm gold pearls on elastic silk thread.
Ideal as a gift, all the pearls used are real (of the freshwater cultured variety) and have been sourced from Real Pearl Company's own pearl farm in China. The bracelet is supplied in a presentation box.
Pearls are soft and delicate because they are organic and produced by a living thing. However when well cared for, they will maintain their lustre for centuries. The best way to maintain their lustre is to wear the pearls often, and wipe them down with a soft cloth afterward- pearls absorb the oils from skin, which helps keep them moist. Pearls should be stored in a cloth pouch or jewellery bag, separated from other jewellery to prevent nicks or chipping. The pearls should not come in contact with cosmetics, hairspray, perfume, chlorinated water, or other harsh chemicals. To keep them clean, let them be the last item put on when dressing, and the first item taken off at the end of an evening.
