A handmade hanging decoration depicting the front of the British Museum.

The front of the British Museum was designed by the architect Sir Robert Smirke (1780–1867) in 1823. Smirke designed the building in the Greek Revival style, which emulated classical Greek architecture. Greek features on the building include the columns, which are shown in this design.

This decoration, featuring beadwork and metallic thread, is hand-embroidered in India by skilled local artisans. It is a collaboration piece between the British Museum and the design studio Poonam's House.
