    About

This stylized shou symbol brooch is adapted from a Chinese necklace in the collection of the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.

The brooch illustrates a geometric, maze-like symbol which is a Chinese ideogram called shou, meaning 'long life'. Such symbols decorate jewellery, home décor and works of art and their presence is believed to have a specific, direct influence on the life of those who wear or live with it.

Made from gold-plated pewter, the brooch measures approximately 4.5cm wide and is ideal as a gift.
