Please note that tickets booked online carry a reduced 1 booking charge. Orders placed over the phone carry a 2 booking charge for exhibitions, and 1.50 for events. British Museum members can book for free over the phone.

Ordering process:
1. Select your preferred event and time slot
2. Pay for your ticket using a debit or credit card
3. A payment confirmation receipt will be shown on screen and an order confirmation will be emailed to you
4. On the day of your visit to the Museum, you must bring:

a. A printed copy of your order confirmation*
and
b. The debit / credit card used for payment.

5. These will be checked by a member of staff before you are allowed access to the exhibition.

* If you forget or lose your order confirmation, these can be reprinted at kiosks in the Museum. You can either use your order confirmation number or the debit / credit card used for payment.

Books and other products

Delivery charges: Charges are calculated depending on the weight (kg) and destination of the order. Use the Shipping tables below to work out your shipping costs. If you have any questions regarding delivery charges, please contact Customer Services directly.

Delivery times: We try to deliver the majority of products (see below for exceptions*) within the following number of working days of the order being placed:

UK: 5 working days
Europe, North America, the Far East and Australasia: 5 to 7 working days
Rest of the world: 7 to 28 working days

At busy times, particularly before Christmas, please allow more time.

Art prints and photo prints
Because all our art prints and photo prints are made-to-order they take a little longer to be dispatched than our other products.
Unframed art prints take between 10 working days
Framed art prints take 21 working days
Photo prints take between 5 and 7 working days

Out-of-stock items. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery of out-of-stock items.

Deliveries to the UK are usually delivered by Parcelforce: They will not deliver the package if there is no one present to accept it instead they will take it to the Parcelforce depot for collection or delivery on an alternative day. We strongly recommend that you supply an address where there will always be someone present to receive the delivery.

Deliveries abroad are delivered by Parcelforce International: Again, we strongly recommend that you supply an address where there will always be someone present to sign for the delivery.

Delivery packaging: Unframed paper prints are delivered in a hard cardboard tube. Framed prints are packed into a double-walled mailing box with corner protectors and bubble wrap to prevent damage during delivery. They are further protected in their box by loose chippings/air bags.
