Elegant earrings with irregular pearl drops.
This piece forms part of a Museum collection of real pearl jewellery. The range is designed by Caroline Haelterman of the Real Pearl Company, a British- based jewellers with a pearl farm in China.
This design is an irregular pearl on sterling silver fixtures - the word 'baroque' originally referred to this irregularity. The pearls used here are of the freshwater cultured variety.
Ideal as a gift set, the earrings are supplied in a presentation box. A matching necklace and bracelet is also available.
Pearls are soft and delicate because they are organic and produced by a living thing. However when well cared for, they will maintain their lustre for years. The best way to maintain their lustre is to wear the pearls often, and wipe them down with a soft cloth afterward- pearls absorb the oils from skin, which helps keep them moist. Pearls should be stored in a cloth pouch or jewellery bag, separated from other jewellery to prevent nicks or chipping. The pearls should not come in contact with cosmetics, hairspray, perfume, chlorinated water, or other harsh chemicals. To keep them clean, let them be the last item put on when dressing, and the first item taken off at the end of an evening.
