A pair of hoop earrings based on originals from ancient Persia.
This jewellery is based on a pair of hoop earrings which are over 2,000 years ago (200BC-200AD). They originate from Susa (an ancient city of the Elamite, Persian and Parthian empires of Iran).
To shape this elegantly simple earring, the goldsmith would have rolled a fine leaf of gold on a core made of pitch - a malleable material found in its natural state. This classic technique of the Ancient Orient made it possible to economise on the precious metal.
Ideal as a gift, this reproduction jewellery is crafted from brass with a gold finish.
