    About

    Egyptian capped bead carnelian earrings.

Based on an ancient Egyptian necklace in the collection of the British Museum (ca. 1900–1800 B.C., Dynasty 12, Middle Kingdom) this piece is strung from carnelian beads capped with gold. Ovoid and ball beads capped either in gold or silver were a popular style for Middle Kingdom jewellery.
