Handmade cameo glass earrings depicting the ancient Greek water nymph Larissa.
In Greek mythology, Larissa was a lover of Poseidon, god of the sea. She was thought to be the nymph of the local spring from which Larissa, the city in Thessaly, was named.
This hand-crafted piece is produced by London based jewellery studio, Via Seres. The earrings consists of a lever drop closure and a ‘facing head’ cameo, which is modelled on an ancient Greek coin, dated c. 400-320 BCE.
The earrings are made from hand-pressed frosted cameo glass and rhodium-plated sterling silver.
