    About

These unique gold bird earrings are based on a Victorian piece from the British Museum collection.

The design is inspired by novelty earrings from the 1860's and 1870's in coloured gold, which featured nesting birds and frogs. The original piece has silver birds set with turquoise stones and pearls; the eggs are made of pearlised glass. These are unmarked but are similar to designs by August Blender, Paris, in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.

    Ideal as a gift.
