A resin ornament of the ancient Egyptian god Anubis (measures 8 inches tall).
Anubis, the god of cemeteries and embalming, was associated with the mummification and protection of the dead for their journey into the afterlife.
This replica of the Egyptian god Anubis has been modelled on an original piece within the British Museum collection. The original, from the late period of Ancient Egypt, is a Bronze figure of Anubis as a standing jackal-headed figure wearing armlets, bracelets and anklets. Jackals are usually associated with wolves and the domestic dog.
Ideal as a history gift.
