SEM and microanalysis in the study of historical technology, materials and conservation
This conference will explore the huge influence that SEM and microanalysis techniques have on the understanding of the material technologies of objects from antiquity to contemporary collections, and on the conservation and preservation of these materials for the long-term benefit of world cultural heritage. Topics to be covered include the study of museum collections, archaeological finds and artists' materials.

The 12th Conference of the Society for Nubian Studies
Sunday 1st August to Friday 6th August 2010
This week-long conference of the International Society for Nubian Studies draws together archaeologists, historians, anthropologists and scholars in related subjects from around the globe who specialize in the study of the rich cultural heritage of ancient Nubia and Sudan.
Please note that full participants in the 12th International Conference for Nubian Studies automatically gain entrance to the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Distinguished Lecture in Egyptology and need not purchase an additional ticket. Anyone purchasing an Accompanying Person ticket for this event may attend The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Foundation Distinguished Lecture in Egyptology on Monday 2nd August and the receptions on Monday 2nd August, Wednesday 4th August and Friday 6th August.
Conference registration is available from 2pm to 5pm on 1 August. When you choose August 1 when purchasing your tickets, you will be registered for the entire conference.
