  • A wonderful colour woodblock print. Hokusai (1760-1849) was the leading ukiyo-e artist of the later Edo period. The print shows the mountain from the sea on the coast to the south-west of Tokyo. Hokusai was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. In his time, he was Japan's leading expert on Chinese painting.
