Head of Hebe

From £20.00

Members' price from *

  • Head of the goddess Hebe; in profile to right, viewed from below, wearing a garland of flowers in her hair. The Goddess Hebe was worshipped by the ancient peoples as Goddess of youth. An altar was dedicated to her in Athens, a sacred grove of cypresses at Philius and a sanctuary at Sicyon. Most times Hebe does appear as the youngest of Goddesses, but not always, for Hebe also has responsibility for all womankind, not just youth.
