The Vindolanda Letters are a collection of personal and official correspondence, preserved by chance at one of the Roman forts on Hadrian's Wall. This charming little book collects some of the most interesting letters and uses them to show youngreaders what life was like for the Romans who lived and fought on the northern frontier of the empire.
