Badges

The British Museum houses a large but unsung collection of badges, the best of which are presented and explored in this stylish book which traces the evolution of the badge over the last 400 years within Britain, Europe and America. Throughout, the humble badge has been used as a tool to signify political allegiance or contempt, social injustice, support or disdain for the monarchy and more recently as a symbol of global protest over issues such as war, peace, race-relations and regime change.
