The perfect short introduction to one of the world’s oldest writing systems: Runes.
This book tells the story of runes from their mysterious origins, their development as a script, to their use and meaning in the modern world.
Illustrated with a range of beautiful objects that show the runic inscriptions in context, Runes provides a glimpse into the languages and cultures of Europeans over a thousand years ago.
Suitable for both general readers and historians, this title is an informative and accessible guide to the Runes script.
