Etruscan civilization, established in the region of Italy now known as Tuscany, reached the height of its power during the seventh and sixth centuries B.C. Etruscan metalwork is notable for its use of granulation, a form of ornamentation in whichtiny grains of metal (most commonly gold ) are fused to an underlying surface metal. This necklace is decorated with carnelian beads and 24 karat gold overlay beads. To preserve the finish, avoid contact with perfume and hairspray.
