A hand cast sculpture based on The Franks Casket on display in the British Museum (as shown in the fourth picture).

The Franks Casket, also known as the Auzon casket, is a rectangular Anglo- Saxon box which is made from whalebone and dated to the 8th century.

The original box was richly carved on the sides and lid in high relief with a range of scenes and accompanying texts in both the runic and Roman alphabets, and in both Old English and Latin. The box shows scenes from Roman, Jewish, Christian and Germanic tradition.

This reproduction, hand cast in resin, has been inspired by the original and developed with the guidance of leading experts to present a complete version of how this magnificent piece could have looked. The original size is replicated: 23cm (length) x 19cm (width) x 13cm (height).

The model is handmade and painted in the UK by Andrew Lilley exclusively for The British Museum.
