Parthenon plaque: Pair of horseman
The Parthenon Frieze is one of the great glories of the British Museum's collections. A stunning and powerful work of great vitality, it is believed to depict the Great Festival which took place every four years to honour the goddess Athena, and shows groups taking part in the procession. These plaques are made from reduced size copies dating from the 19th century. Suitable for hanging indoors and out, they would be very effective in a walled garden or patio area. Hand-finished resin with hook for hanging, each 28 x 36cm.
