The Fontaine des Innocents is the last remaining Renaissance fountain in Paris and is presently situated in the Les Halles district, in the Square of the Innocents. The fountain was decorated with panels by the great French sculpture Jean Goujon (fl. 1540-62) although during the 18th century it was remodelled into the style of a temple by Augustin Pajou who also carved some additional decorative panels of nymphs. This replica has been made using moulds of the originals now in the collections of the British Museum.
