This is a green granite figure of a male official, seated cross-legged with one hand on his chest. It is unpainted apart from black pupils in the eyes and a black line that traces around the eye - mimicking the style for kohl as eye make-up. Acquired as part of the collection of Geovanni Anastasi in 1839, it dates from the second half of the 12th Dynasty. This replica was moulded from the original in the department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan.
