Frenzied Maenad replica
£110.00
A replica of a Roman marble panel carved around 1st century BC showing a maenad, a follower of Dionysus the god of wine. Her entourage roamed the woods in a state of ecstasy, killing wild animals and uprooting saplings. The maenad grasps a knife in her right hand and, with the left, swings the severed hindquarters of a young deer.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, the rich detail on this plaque makes it a charming decorative addition to a conservatory or garden.
