Highlights Tour B
Highlights tours illuminate the development of world cultures, including many of the Museum's star objects and world famous collections. Vistors can experience the history of diverse civilisations illustrated through artefacts from Egypt, Greece, Assyria, Rome, Sumeria, India, China, Mexico, South Pacific, Africa and Roman and Celtic Britain.
The tours last for 90 minutes. As the Museum is too vast to see all of the highlights in that time, some are covered on Tour A (daily at 1030hrs and 1500hrs) and others on Tour B (daily at 1300hrs). There is a reduction in price for visitors booking an adult ticket for both Tours A and B Simply add both to your basket before checkout.
Highlights Tour B may cover the following:
ASSYRIA - Battle of Lachish reliefs OR part of the Ashurnasipal II reliefs from Nimrud
EGYPT - Sculpture Gallery: Rosetta Stone and colossal sculpture of Amenophis III
GREEK CLASSICAL - Asia Minor: Nereid Monument from Xanthos OR (when available) Mausoleum at Halikarnassus and Athens: the Caryatid
CHINA - jades, ceramics and bronzes
INDIA - Hindu deities; the advent of Buddhism
MEXICO - Aztec turquoise mosaics OR
SOUTH PACIFIC - Easter Island sculpture
Please note that content may change, depending on the volume of visitors in certain areas, gallery closures and other events happening in the Museum on the day; however, guides will always select objects of equal interest or importance.
