A handmade necklace with a glass cameo pendant that depicts the ancient Greek water nymph, Larissa.
In Greek mythology, Larissa was a lover of Poseidon, god of the sea. She was thought to be the nymph of the local spring from which Larissa, the city in Thessaly, was named.
This hand-crafted piece is produced by London based jewellery studio, Via Seres. The ‘facing head’ cameo is modelled on an ancient Greek coin, dated c. 400-320 BC, created by a master die-engraver from the city of Larissa.
Each necklace is crafted from hand-pressed glass, four rose-cut diamonds (approximately 0.5 carat) and rhodium- plated sterling silver.
