A classic magnifying glass decorated in a 18th century design.

Rococo was an ornamental style that came to Britain from France and was popular from around 1730 to 1770. It is characterised by asymmetrical designs with elaborate C and S scrolls. Rococo takes its name from the French rocaille (pronounced 'rock-eye'), which refers to the rock or broken shell motifs that also formed part of the designs. The style was used primarily in silver and was later taken up by furniture makers. This magnifying glass is a fine example of its decorative and flamboyant style.

This magnifying glass provides 5x magnification and is made of silver-plated pewter with a French finished handle. It is made using traditional artisan skills.

Ideal for small print, thumbnail images or as a classic coffee-table accessory. Comes gift packaged.
