    About

This representation of the great sovereign of ancient Egypt features the king as a child with a bare torso. He holds his finger to his mouth in imitation of the young god Horus.

On the reverse, the god Ptah is shown in a shallow naos - an opening at eye level. He is called the “Governor of Cosmic Balance” and “Sovereign of the Two Lands”. This god from Memphis was venerated by one of Ramesses’ viziers whose name and head have disappeared, but it is possible to identify the dress as the typical rigid robe of his office.
