    About

The design on the pendant shows an embossed gold costume-fitting featuring the head of the Egyptian dwarf-god Bes.

The Oxus Treasure is the largest collection of fifth- fourth century BC Achaemenid precious metal objects and was found near the eastern edge of the Persian empire. Several of the gold items are closely related to Scythian gold objects in the Siberian Collection of Peter the Great.
