Stag antlers amber earrings (British Museum exclusive)

    SKU: cmcj60540

    £40.00 Members' price *

A pair of gold plated earrings with an amber stone.

The design takes its inspiration from stag antlers.

The stag was an animal often found within Scythian art.

Motifs of local wildlife and mythical beasts were usually incorporated onto the designs of the impressive gold ornaments and jewellery worn by the Scythians men and women.

The Scythians may have had a special significance for the stag as a sacred symbol.
