An embroidered black suede leather bracelet with an adjustable leather thong, with a Ndebele pattern representing energy.
This bracelet is inspired by Ndebele art, the traditional culture of the Ndebele people in South Africa. Their use of colourful expressive symbols dates back to times of strife and conflict in the 18th and 19th centuries as a way to express suffering and grief.
The trademark geometric mural art of Ndebele homesteads are instantly recognisable. The vibrant mural art is a talent passed from mother to daughter, and for most of their history the symbols drawn by the women were disguised to everyone except for the Ndebele people.
