Egyptian lotus flower pendant created using 18ct gold, set with an aquamarine stone and with a pearl drop.
The lotus was one of the most significant symbolic flowers in ancient Egyptian and Nubian cultures, and the motif was frequently used in Egyptian art and architecture. White and blue lotus plants are native to Egypt, and were extremely important to the ancient Egyptians. The blue lotus was connected with the sun god Ra, as is closes at night, and is said to have symbolised rebirth or regeneration. Meanwhile the white lotus was believed to give strength and power.
