Red woven silk tie with a blue Egyptian lotus design.

The lotus motif was frequently used in Egyptian art and architecture. White and blue lotus plants are native to Egypt, and were extremely important to the ancient Egyptians. The blue lotus was connected with the sun god Ra, as is closes at night, and is said to have symbolised rebirth or regeneration. Meanwhile the white lotus was believed to give strength and power.
