Handmade in the UK for The British Museum by Andrew Lilley, this plaque is inspired by a detail from the magnificent stela discovered underwater at the lost city of Thonis- Heracleion in 2001.

The stela discovered at Thonis-Heracleion is made of black granodiorite, and is itself an exact copy of a stela discovered at Naukratis, another lost city, in 1899.
