The "Standard of Ur" is a small tapered box, originally of wood, decorated with figural scenes in an inlaid mosaic of shell, lapis lazuli and red limestone.

The box was discovered by Sir Leonard Woolley during his excavations in the Royal Cemetery at Ur, Mesopotamia. Its original purpose is uncertain, but the two main side panels feature an important figure, probably the king, in scenes of war and feasting.
