This necklace forms part of a range accompanying the British Museum exhibition Luxury and power: Persia to Greece.

The necklace is crafted from silvery white pearls alternating with brass rings and is finished with a brass bell pendant and a gold-plated magnetic ball clasp.

The necklace is inspired by a Persian pendant which comprises of several pearl beads and a central bell pendant. The original dates to the 5th-4th century BC, and was found at the site of Pasargadae, offering evidence for the existence of Gulf pearl-fisheries at this time.
