An ornament depicting the ancient Egyptian god Anubis.

Anubis is one of the most well-known of the ancient Egyptian gods. Worshipped as the guardian and protector of the dead, Anubis was usually depicted as a jackal (a long-legged wild dog) or a wolf. He is also sometimes shown as having the body of a man and the head of a dog. As can be seen in art from the time, Anubis watched over the mummification process before conducting the soul through the underworld. He was present for the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, and determined whether the deceased was worthy to enter the realm of the dead.

A handsome gift celebrating ancient Egyptian culture.
