A reproduction of a famous bronze statue called 'Baigneuse ou Vénus sortant du bain' or Bathing Venus, created by the Renaissance sculptor Giambologna (1529-1608).

Giambologna was artist born in Douai, Flanders (now France) but led his entire career in Italy. His art is characterised by elongated shapes and sinuous lines (containing many curves and twists).

This small sculpture was a great success during the sixteenth century and became an object of choice for collectors. Here it is reproduced in bronze.
