The Bayeux Tapestry is an 11th century embroidered cloth which measures nearly 70 metres long. The embroidery illustrates the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England, and is thought to have been produced sometime after the Battle of Hastings in 1066 in a monastery in the South of England.
