Exclusive to the British Museum, a set of two packs of playing cards in a decorative tin which features an image of the Museum’s façade.
The tin includes two sets of classic playing cards which include the same image on the reverse.
The façade of the British Museum was designed by the architect Sir Robert Smirke (1780-1867) in 1823. Smirke designed the building in the Greek Revival style, which emulated classical Greek architecture. Features on the building include the colonnade and the portico shown in this design. In front of the Museum are shown the Gayer-Anderson Cat, the Discobolus, the Rosetta Stone and the Portland Vase, amongst many other fascinating artefacts.
