Byzantine Peacocks Bracelet
Exclusive to the British Museum, a gold-plated bracelet inspired by an early Byzantine bangle.
This design of the 24 carat gold-plated brass bracelet is inspired by a 6th century gold bracelet which is now in the British Museum collection. The pattern on the original, copied faithfully here, consists of peacocks and swans surrounded by scrolls and bands of open-work lozenges. On the clasp is a circular medallion, flanked by oblongs with two square settings, now empty, which would originally have held semi-precious stones.
A beautiful gift inspired by historical Byzantine jewellery.
