Celtic Wolf Tankard
A handsome pewter tankard featured a carved wolf decoration.
The hand-cast tankard has been inspired by a pair of 4th-5th BC century copper flagons housed in the British Museum, which are an astonishing example of early La Tène Celtic artwork. Discovered in Basse-Yutz, France, the flagons feature ornately carved wolf handles next to smaller wolf figurines. Thought to be mother wolves protecting their pups, these figures have been re-created at the handle and base of this striking tankard.
A stunning gift for a lover of Celtic art.
