He is carrying a bundle of holly strapped to his back with a basket of apples beside him. A hand reaching out from the right is holding a tray with a piece of cake and a small glass of drink. The print originally was made using the Baxter process, a term that refers to a mixed variety of printmaking, patented by George Baxter in 1853, using multiple wood-engraved blocks printed in colour over intaglio key-plate.
