About the Day of the Dead:

The Day of the Dead (El Dia de los Muertos, or All Saints’ Day) is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and by Latin Americans living in the United States and Canada. The holiday brings together family and friends to pray for and remember those who have died.

The celebration occurs on the 2nd of November in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. Traditionally, families will decorate ofrendas (shrines or altars) with photographs of the deceased, food, calaveras sugar skulls and cempasúchil (Mexican Marigold flowers), and may gather at gravesides to celebrate the lives of the departed. Dia de los Muertos is a joyous occasion, and is typically filled with colour and life.

A bold and beautiful gift inspired by Mexican culture.
