Egyptian Lapis Lazuli Drop Earrings
Exclusive to the British Museum, a pair of gold-plated drop earrings with lapis lazuli beads.
These elegant earrings have been inspired by an ancient Egyptian necklace consisting of fifty-nine truncated convex bicone beads of gold-capped carnelian. Jewellery was worn by everyone in ancient Egyptian society, although precious metals and stones would only have been affordable to the very wealthy.
Lapis lazuli was a popular choice of stone for Egyptian jewellery and ornaments, and was used to decorate the famous death mask of the pharaoh Tutankhamun.
A charming gift inspired by thousands of years of jewellery design.
Please note that for hygiene reasons, pierced earrings cannot be refunded.
