A beaded necklace inspired by ancient Egyptian jewellery.

This piece is inspired by an ancient Egyptian necklace in the Museum's collection (Middle Kingdom, Dynasty 12, c. 1878-1840 BC). The original features colourful cylindrical beads made of gold, lapis lazuli, and turquoise. This provides the basis for the design of this striking necklace, made from reconstituted turquoise and lapis.

Ideal as a gift set: matching earrings and bangles are also available.

A beaded necklace inspired by ancient Egyptian jewellery.

This necklace features alternating beads of reconstituted turquoise and lapis lazuli, and gold-plated discs. The design is based on an ancient Egyptian necklace from the 12th Dynasty of the Middle Kingdom, c.1878-1840 BC, which can be found in the British Museum’s collection.

In ancient Egypt, jewellery such as earrings and necklaces would have been worn by almost everybody, however gold and precious stones would have been affordable only to the very wealthy.

An eye-catching and unique gift for history lovers.
