This necklace consists of Black Onyx beads separated by gold rings. Its unique design is inspired by 2,000 year old jewellery found in ancient Etruscan tombs.

The Etruscan civilization, which flourished in central Italy between the 8th and the 5th centuries BC, left behind a language still not fully understood, as well as art and architecture created with great skill and inspiration. Etruscan gold jewellery excavated in the early 19th century was in great demand among ladies of the European courts and was often worn to state functions - a fashion called the Revivalist movement.

This classical-design necklace follows in the Revivalist tradition. Ideal as a gift, it is supplied in a keepsake box.

A necklace of black onyx beads inspired by ancient Etruscan jewellery.

This beautiful piece has been created from graduated black onyx beads separated by ornate pewter spacer beads, the design of which is based on 2,000-year-old jewellery found in ancient Etruscan tombs.

Etruria was an ancient civilisation found in parts of Italy, including Tuscany, Latium and Umbria. It is believed to have started around the year 900 BC and continued until it was assimilated into the Roman Empire by about the 1st century BC. Etruscan art and jewellery was heavily influenced by ancient Greek culture and design.

During the 19th century many Etruscan tombs were opened, and the jewellery discovered inspired Victorian jewellers to design pieces in what became known as the Etruscan Revival Style.

An enchanting gift based on ancient design.
