A clothbound, two-volume edition of the classic archaeology title about ancient Egypt: The Tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter.

Howard Carter was an archaeologist working in the subject's golden age, the 1920s, when he discovered a key ancient Egyptian artefact: a tiny tomb belonging to Tutankhamun, King of Egypt (1336-1327 BC). This is his original first-hand testimony with the original photographs by Harry Burton.

Analysis of Tutankhamun's mummy suggests that he was around seventeen years old when he died, but the cause of his death is a mystery. When the young king died unexpectedly he was buried in the Valley of the Kings in what was probably intended as a non-royal tomb.

Iideal as a history gift for all ages, this two-volume edition features an entire volume dedicated to magnificent colour photography of Tutankhamun’s treasures taken by Sandro Vannini. The other volume features Carter's text together with the original photographs by Harry Burton, who worked with Carter at the exhibition site and was the first to photograph the tomb.
