A silver bracelet with a Classical Ram design.

This bangle takes its inspiration from bangles of Ancient Greece from around c. 450-400 B.C.

Bracelets featuring animal heads as finials (or end caps) were popular in ancient Greece. The ram symbolises virility and creative energy, and the lion represents great strength and association with the sun. Bangles were not only worn on the wrist but all across the arm.

Exclusive to the British Museum, a silver-plated ram’s head bracelet.

Inspired by ancient Greece, this bangle has been crafted from silver plated pewter and brass, and is adjustable to size.

The design of this majestic bangle has been taken from an artefact housed in the British Museum’s collection. The original gold-plated bronze bracelet dates to around 450-400 BC and was discovered in Crete in the late 1880s. Bracelets featuring animal head finials, especially rams, were very popular in ancient Greece, with the ram symbolising virility and creative energy.
