Exclusive to the British Museum, a silk scarf featuring a design inspired by Peru’s native llamas.

This scarf forms part of a range accompanying the British Museum exhibition Peru: a journey in time.

The scarf is crafted in the UK from screen-printed silk. The design is based on a gold Incan llama, thought to be an offering, which dates to around 1500. The llama is bordered by patterns and motifs taken from Peruvian textiles found in the British Museum’s collection. The design incorporates prints from the Nasca, Wari and Chimu, as well as later styles, covering a period of over 1,000 years of Peruvian art.

A beautiful gift for a lover of South American art.
