Inspired by the British Museum’s world-renowned collection of sculptures and artefacts from ancient Greece, this charming toy shows Zeus with a bright gold beard, a blue and white toga, and clutching a lightning bolt in his hand.  It has been designed in collaboration with the Museum’s curators, ensuring that his costume is historically accurate.

In ancient Greek religion, Zeus was thought of as the king of the Olympian gods. Zeus was the god of the skies and thunder, and he played a pivotal role in many of the Greek myths and traditions. Although married to the goddess Hera, Zeus is renowned for his many affairs with gods, demi-gods and mortals.
