This necklace is handmade using ancient inlay and metal working techniques. The pendant features green and purple enameled detailing with pearl drops around the edges.

This necklace is part of a range made by Zevar Jewellery that uses traditional Mughal colours such as blue, green and white which also dominate the art of Meenakari.

Meenakari is the art of colouring and ornamenting metal surfaces by fusing over it with a range of colours to create intricate designs.

The art of decorating metal with enamelling, or meenakari, was introduced to India by the Mughals. Raja Man Singh of Amber brought meenakari to Rajasthan at the turn of the 16th century. Man Singh brought skilful craftsmen from the Mughal palace at Lahore and established them in Jaipur, which became the centre of Meenakari.
